Ah yes, the Mercury Café. I had to judge there once. Some waitress got all up in my face for giving a guy a 6.9. But even besides that, the place wasn't really friendly to me. The majority of the poems were "FUCK BUSH! FUCK THE WAR! FUCK 9/11! RAWWWWRRRR!". I've nothing against liberals (I'm a centrist/moderate conservative, BTW), but I do think most of the poets need more variety in their work. Except Ken Arkind; he rocks.
